FAQ
Therapy can be a daunting space, here are a few compiled questions and answers to help ease the process for you. Please know that these answers might not be able to address your personal queries, for which you can contact me or address them in a free consultation call.
About my approach
I hold the belief that the client is an expert on their life when provided in a safe, judgment-free environment. I use an eclectic approach, which means that different therapy orientations and schools of thought guide my work.

While our sessions can look different based on the needs of the moment, I hold a Person-centered theoretical approach, where each person has the ability and resources to help themself with the support of a therapist.
I also use an insight-oriented lens. Exploring how events, relationships, and interactions of the past inform our present experiences.
This collaborative space cannot exist without understanding the sociocultural and political impacts on personal life, I encourage these explorations in therapy.
How does therapy work?
While there are different forms of therapy, one consistency is that is a confidential, collaborative space, free of judgment. The client and therapist relationship is at the center of therapy. I will make space for the thoughts, feelings, experiences, memories and any other aspects of your life that you choose to bring in to our space. This space is guided and informed by your needs. Together we then explore and navigate what has been shared.
(What therapy is not)
Therapy is not aimed at 'fixing' or 'curing' but creating space to understand and explore your experiences.
How many sessions are needed?
There is no one right answer to this question, since the needs and wants from therapy can keep changing during the process. I would suggest giving yourself 3 to 4 sessions to understand the therapy process and how you see yourself developing in it.
How to begin therapy?
To begin therapy, you can reach out to me through the contact details provided. We will first have an initial consultation call, that is free of charge.
During this call, we can discuss the expectations from therapy, address any questions you might have, and see how well I fit your therapist's needs.
After this process, we can begin with our first session.
What populations do I work with?
I work with adults, anyone over the age of 18 can reach out!
This practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly and affirmative, additionally working with a supervisor I continually try and make the therapy space more accessible.
Collaboration is a big aspect of my work and I invite any feelings or feedback to be discussed in the therapy space to help it meet your needs better.

What will the first session look like?
The first session looks different for everyone. Since our work focuses on building a therapeutic relationship and exploring experiences through this relationship, in the first session we have conversations that are important to you.
Understanding a little about your life, what brings you to therapy, and how the process can be made easier for you.
If there is one thing I'd like you to know, it's this, our sessions will move at the pace you are comfortable with. If you would like to talk about the weather instead of a difficult experience in the first session, then that is what we will do.
Additional details about our practice:
1. Currently The Coping Collective is an online practice. Our sessions take place through video/audio calls.
2. The session lasts for a period of 50-60 minutes.
3. The services are open to anyone across the globe.
